I consider myself relatively proficient at sharpening drills without guides at least up to maybe 5/8". Once they get bigger and the hole size is important then the guide and ruler come out

As the heel of the insert exits the thread form the resulting finish leaves a cross hatch pattern. This cross hatch pattern would not be seen on any thread wall with a positive wall angle.
May 07, 2019· Trying to diagnose an issue where I can feel and hear grinding or popping as I'm pedaling under load. It happens several times per revolution and feels like chain links not engaging . I can spin the pedals on a stand and no grinding, shifting is perfect. I can replicate the symptoms by holding the rear brake while moving the pedal on the stand.
Thanks for your input guys! Replaced both drums, 4 shoes and all the springs. No more grinding noise, car brakes a ton better now! Some slight sandpaperlike noise when braking now from the rear, but that is probably just the shoes breaking in on the drum as I only took it on a milelong test run. Thanks again!
