Potato production in South East Asia is primarily confined to the highlands where temperatures are sufficiently low to facilitate tuber growth. Furthermore, the high incidence of pests and diseases, poor seed quality, inappropriate varieties and the inability of farmers to purchase sufficient quantities of fertilisers and chemicals reduces
